Historical c.16th-century townhouse
Sourcing and Consultation Service
This was the most exciting project we’ve worked on to date. The owner is a collector of many different art forms and a philanthropist. The property was built in 1765 in the Castle area for a wealthy merchant and boasts the original frescos in the piano nobile.
There are 26 rooms in total, of which 12 were undertaken by Easter Shaw to redecorate and redefine the spaces. The owner owns many important artworks, one of which by Mondrian which influenced the decoration to a set of the rooms, primary colours were used with white and black outlining space and detailing.
In the rooms where the original fresco and Azulejo tiles were discovered a more subtle blue/grey has been used to compliment the original features. We had the privilege to work with some important antiques and art from around the globe. During the project, we layered different cultures from different time periods to achieve an exciting and vibrant interior.
